Moorestown 16 - Shawnee 8 (Reg Season)
Moorestown doubled up their nemesis Shawnee 16-8 as Haleigh Dalmass led that attack with five goals and Amanda Currell made several outstanding saves.
Moorestown, playing in front of a very large home crowd on girls lacrosse appeciation day defeated the Shawnee Renegades for the 18th time over the last 19 games these two powers have met.
Two outstanding teams with nothing but respect for one another played on a perfect day. The officiating was top shelf and each possession was contested, just what you would expect when these two programs meet each year.
Moorestown did an outstanding job of running their offense with patience and redefending on Shawnee clears, many times making it difficult for the Renegades to transition thru the midfield. Steph Toy and Marie McCool were huge and complimented what may have been Haleigh Dalmass's best game as a Quaker.
Though the defense did bend a bit too much, they made stops when they had to and they were backed up by Currell's clutch 10 save performance. The halftime score was 10-5 Quakers.
Moorestown actually won draw control 14-11, a rare occurence lately, with McCool leading with three. Mary Flick, Lindsay Goldblatt and Toy each contributed three ground balls. The Quakers limited their turnovers to five and got off 28 shots.
Moorestown won both the J.V. and freshmen games comfortably.
