Moorestown 20 - Notre Dame 3 (Playoffs)
Details of Game #22: May 22, 2012
Moorestown defeated the Irish of Notre Dame today 20-3 to advance to the Group 3 South Jersey Championship. Haleigh Dalmass scored three goals, the last one being her 100th career goal. Steph Toy and Marie McCool each tallied four goals.
Moorestown kept the pressure on the entire game and played attacking offense and defense on it's way to facing the Renegades of Shawnee in their ritual game every late May.
Nine different girls scored and 21 girls saw action. Shannon Keeler filled in for Amanda Currell and did an exceptional job in goal making five saves and was active with an interecption and ground ball.
Draw control was in Moorestown's favor 18-7 as Haleigh Dalmass, Mary Flick and Steph Toy came up big. The Quakers had an amazing 43 shots on goal and stalled the ball for the last five minutes of the game.
Mary Flick, Megan Kelly, Steph Toy and Lindsay Goldblatt were very active in the midfield as they got most of the groundballs, while Flick and McCool led with the most legal checks. Once again, Moorestown limited their turnovers yielding only six giveaways, only two by the starters.
The Quakers move on to Thursday's annual postseason matchup with Shawnee.
